Coronation Insurance Pays ₦8.3bn Claims in Six Months

Coronation Insurance Plc paid ₦8.3 billion in gross claims to customers during the first half of 2026, as the company reaffirmed its commitment to providing financial protection to individuals and businesses across Nigeria.

The company said the claims payment reflects its financial capacity and continued efforts to support policyholders when unexpected losses occur.

The ₦8.3 billion was paid across several classes of insurance, including motor, fire, marine and engineering risks, as well as other insured events.

Coronation Insurance said timely claims settlement remains a key part of its commitment to customers, noting that the value of an insurance policy is ultimately seen when valid claims are paid.

The company has also continued to improve its claims management process through technology, simplified documentation and customer-focused services.

These measures are aimed at making claims notification and processing faster, easier and more transparent for policyholders.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Coronation Insurance Plc, Olamide Olajolo, said the claims payment reflects the company’s commitment to the basic promise of insurance.

“At Coronation Insurance, we believe that insurance is ultimately a promise to be there for our customers in their moments of need,” Olajolo said.

He said the company remains focused on ensuring that customers receive timely and fair support when they suffer losses.

“Paying claims promptly and fairly is at the heart of that promise. The ₦8.3 billion we paid in claims during the first half of 2026 demonstrates our financial strength and commitment to our customers,” he said.

Olajolo added that the company is investing in digital technology to improve the customer experience and reduce the time required to process claims.

According to him, the company is expanding services such as faster policy issuance, digital claims notification and technology-driven claims processing.

Coronation Insurance said the investments are part of its wider effort to make insurance more accessible and improve the customer experience from the purchase of a policy through to claims settlement.

The company added that it would continue to focus on transparency, operational efficiency and reliable service as the Nigerian insurance industry undergoes further changes.

The ₦8.3 billion claims payment in the first six months of 2026, it said, reinforces its commitment to helping individuals and businesses recover from insured losses and maintain financial stability.
